Accredited Visitor Information Centres

  • AVICs provide free, unbiased local travel information and free print material including brochures, booklets, maps etc. Ask any visitor/travel related question to the AVIC’s friendly staff or volunteers and you’ll receive an abundance of helpful knowledge and support material. Alternatively, go in with an open mind and hear about all the best spots and hidden gems within the region, and receive recommendations for nearby towns.

    Many AVICs will be able to make accommodation and tour/attraction bookings for you, or at least call the right person to connect you.

    AVICs vary in the range of services they provide, however you will commonly find an attraction, cafe, gift shop, bathrooms, wifi and other amenities at these helpful centres.

  • In Australia, you’ll find an AVIC every few hundred kilometers on major tourist drives, and even closer in more urban centres. This expansive, trusted network inadvertently acts as a safety network as you’ll be sure to find a friendly face in each Centre, making a call for help or support never too far away.
